Subscribers of the National Pension System (NPS) receive a statement of transactions at the end of each financial year. Here are the details to be found under each head in the statement for the subscriber to review.
Subscriber data
The statement mentions the subscriber's personal details such as name, address, contact details, nominee details and the name and address of the nodal office. Check to see if the details are up to date.
Investment summary
The next section gives a snapshot of the NPS account. It shows the total contribution made during the statement period, the value of the contribution and the appreciation. This section also contains NPS scheme details like names of pension fund managers (PFMs)and percentage allocation to each.
Investment details
This section provides the PFM wise contribution to the corpus, units and NAV of each PFM, and return on investment for each PFM inXIRR (annualised) terms for the statement period.
Contribution details
This section gives a record of the contributions made by the subscriber as well the employer (if applicable). Record of withdrawal from NPS account, mostly Tier II, are also shown in this section.
Transaction details
Under this section, you will find details of contributions and withdrawals on the basis of PFMs with the applicable NAV on the transaction date and number of units allotted.
Points to note
1. Go through the "Notes" section at the end of the statement which provides the meanings of terms used in the statement.
2. The transaction statement can also be viewed at any point in time on the CRA online portal.
